Author Spotlight: Sarah Hoss

Wow, this month has sure gone by quickly! I am thrilled to feature author Sarah Hoss and her debut novel, Sins of the Heart, on my blog this week. Sins of the Heart is a riveting contemporary romance novel that revolves around a family shield, set against the backdrop of the Kentucky mountains.

AUTHOR BIO:

Sarah Hoss grew up believing she could try anything and if she set her mind to it, she would succeed. Sixteen years of dance lessons, Cheerleading, and school plays proved to her that her parent’s words rang true. Writing was no exception. Reading the Outlander series made her fall in love with time travels and the historical places books could take her. Always a child with a vivid imagination, she realized as an adult, she could put her imagination to good use and began writing. Marrying her very own hero, they live in Indiana in the town where she grew up. They have three beautiful children and one hyper dog. When Sarah isn’t writing, she enjoys gardening, camping, and watching her kids’ play sports.

KH: Welcome, Sarah, to my blog!

SH: Hi and thank you so much for having me here.

KH: How would you describe the heat level and genre of your book, Sins of the Heart?

SH: The heat level is sweet, and is a mystery/adventure and contemporary romance.

KH: What was the inspiration behind your novel?

SH: My cousin is a McAfee and wanted a story written about her clan so that gave me my start. I often attend festivals as the one described and the scenery in KY where the book is settled is where my family lives. I just began writing after that. The town of Brownsburg is false since the description of the festival is from my state of IN.

KH: What will readers love most about your hero/heroine?

SH: I think what they will love the most about my hero is his dedication to his family and for the heroine, her ability to forgive.

KH: Do you have a favorite moment or scene from your book that you would like to share?

SH: I think my favorite parts to write were first and foremost the festival and the drive through the Kentucky mountains. Every year, my family goes to a large festival in Mansfield, Indiana. The things I described are from there. The drive through the mountains is near Stanton KY. We took this exact drive heading to a cemetery doing genealogy for my family. The other scene I liked the most is the scene between Grant and the villain as they are explaining the reasons behind it all.

KH: Do you have any upcoming events that you would like to share with readers?

SH: On April 28th, I will be participating in a multi-author Facebook event with Madeline Martin. I also have a new historical paranormal romance coming out in the beginning of June titled Highland Savior.

KH: I know that Scottish, historical romances are very popular and with another book coming out, I have no doubt that you will be successful! Thanks, Sarah, for spending some time on my blog today. I want to point out to readers that Sarah can be reached on several social media links.

SH: Thank you for having me!

  1. Great interview! 🙂 I love festivals – especially ones that become family tradition to attend. I take my minions to a Ren Faire every year – we always look forward to it.
